Strategy Builder Rules and Guidelines
We welcome all submitted guides. However, for the sake of quality, there are some guidelines that need to be followed.
1. Don't take shortcuts in making your strategy. Be as comprehensive as possible. Don't leave anything out! In short: don't be lazy. Sparse or empty strategies will never see the light of day.
2. Don't write for experts. Leave it to the experts to scrutinize your strategy. It's the beginners/noobs/newbies you should be making the strategy for.
3. Write like a pro. Keep your grammar and spelling in check. Dnt wrte lyk ur txtin!
4. Keep your terminology simple and straightforward. Don't use words or slang that others might not understand.
5. Write in English. Writing in Tagalog might make it difficult for some people to understand your strategy.
6. Don't plagiarize! If you're going to copy an existing strategy here or elsewhere, forget about it!
7. Use citations/footnotes. If parts of your strategy came from or was inspired by somebody else's, acknowledge him/her in your conclusion.
8. Expound. Think of several sticky situations your character/hero might fall into. Provide hero vs. enemy situations and ways to get out alive.
9. Provide an attack plan. Let everyone in on your attack techniques. It's great to learn different approaches.
10. Avoid relisting items in the early, mid and late game sections just to make your strategy look longer. That's what the item build is for! Do it only if extremely necessary.
11. Announce in the forums once your strategy is posted. This will let members see your strategy first and give you their initial comments and suggestions.
12. Constantly improve! If subsequent releases of Dota contains changes in a hero or item you used in a strategy, edit it to make it as current as possible.
